ABOUT OUR FAMILY
"Happiness comes when you believe in what you are doing, and LOVE what you are doing even more"

Hello All and Welcome...Before we decided to raise and be owned by our pugs we spent many years serving our country as a military family. My husband served in both the Air Force and the Navy and currently is within his retirement window with the Air Force.  I am an Army veteran myself after growing up as a Navy brat.
After several years of asking my dear husband for a pug, I received my first pug, Emma Grace in December 2009. Since then I have decided to fulfill a life long dream of owning and raising quality pugs with my family...and the rest is history.

We however, DO NOT take breeding of any sort lightly, and will forever be involved with the rescue efforts of any and all pugs in need.

Here at McDonough Pug Ranch we raise and breed quality AKC and CKC pugs ~ and ONLY Pugs.We do however have a Pure Bred German Shepard that is part of our family.  Our pugs are raised in a clean, loving, & healthy environment as part of our family and are socialized with children and other dogs. Breeding pugs is something we are enjoying as a family and we will continue as long as we derive enjoyment from it and feel like we are making a difference in the pug world.

We firmly believe that each puppy we produce represents us  as people & breeders, and as such we  work hard to put the very best into our pugs, & our choice of pugs included in our breeding program.

Our ultimate goal is to improve  upon the breed with each and every breeding that takes place at our ranch.
Not breeding to supply the over saturated pet market, but for ourselves first and for the preservation of a HEALTHY breed in ALL colors... NOT allowing indiscriminate or novice breeders to have the lines we have worked so hard to maintain.

Because pugs are what they eat, we feed the very best in nutrition ~ foods that are additive free, preservative free, & containing absolutely no animal by products  are the only options for our pug kids, so that they will live the healthiest, longest life possible.
When a female conceives her puppies those pups are what she was being fed at the time of conception, so next time you inquire about a puppy from any breeder ask what they feed their dogs as it most certainly does matter to the present and future health of that puppy. Most mainstream dog foods contain first ~ animal by products, corn fillers (major skin allergy contributor.)These foods may be cheaper to feed but will cost you more in the future by the declining health of your pug.
We  truly love what we do and  we are happy to hear from others that it shows in the quality pugs that are coming from our lines.

Breeding with integrity is one of our TOP priorities here on McDonough Ranch.
We are not just breeding pugs~we are breeding pugs of health, substance, and quality.

We do not ship our pups in cargo, however if you live out of state and are seriously considering our pups for adoption we would be happy to speak with you. Our airport of choice is Albany International. In our opinion shipping a young puppy can be traumatic,& frightening to the puppy and to us as breeders,& pug lovers, we want to make sure that the quality of care is maintained throughout the whole process. The welfare of the pup is our first priority. We would love to meet you at our airport however, so that you and your puppy can fly home safely.

This includes PET BROKERS and PET STORES which sell puppymill pets solely for PROFIT.

We support genetic testing rather than showing to preserve our breed.
